Great Escape: LUMC's Pre-School
Littleton United Methodist Church offers a Parent's Day Out Program four days a week and Preschool Program (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday). This program began over 20 years ago as a babysitting service for members of the church. Today, Great Escape served over 300 families of the church and surrounding communities. Great Escape provides a structured child care service in a safe, healthy, fun, Christian environment. Each day the children have music, craft, story, and learning times which are teacher directed. Children are encouraged to play independently and in groups during child directed times. Great Escape has two wonderful outdoor playgrounds which are safety certified. We also have access to a gymnasium when the weather prevents classes from going outside.
Great Escape is licensed by the Colorado Department of Social Services. We ensure that all parents fee comfortable spending the day away from their children.

Our Philosophy & Goals
Great Escape stives to meet the individual child's spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical needs each day. The staff respects each child. We are sensitive to each child's interests, special needs, talents, and style of discovery and learning. We strive to provide a safe environment, which will foster the joy of learning and help develop each child's God-given potential.
All the teachers for Great Escape are Group Leader or Assistant Group Leader qualified. They provide activities for the children each day including arts and crafts projects, story times, gross motor activities, and free play choices. We have a music teacher who provides music and movement each day for all children. All teachers are First Aid/CPR qualified. The Great Escape staff models Christian values at all times!
Parents are a treasured and vital part of the Great Escape program! We encourage parents to help out in their child's classroom. We would like to give parents the opportunity to share in their child's day and get to know the teacher and other children better. Parents are responsible for supplying a nutrious snack, juice (not red or purple) or milk, and cups and napkins 4-5 times a year, per child.
Registration for Great Escape begins in February for the upcoming September. There is an annual $35 registration fee per child ($70/family). Families may register throughout the school year and be added to the wait lists. When a child leaves the program wait-listed families are moved into permanent positions in the program.
