A Day in the Life
Richard and Lisa Hendry enjoy Littleton very much. They like the intimate feel of a city that still has a wonderful old town center with a restored courthouse, small intimate stores, a first-class ‘Main Street’ theater group and fine restaurants. They also appreciate – and use - a light-rail system that can whisk them to Denver’s metro area in about 20 minutes. The convenience of taking the train for a dinner and show at the Civic Center, or any Denver attraction, and not have to worry about dealing with traffic and parking, is a wonderful plus and another reason to live in Littleton.

Although neither Richard nor Lisa have much spare time, they make sure they have regular dates together. They enjoy a night at the movies and both enjoy shopping! They enjoy travel, visiting art and history museums, historic sites and ancient cultures - both in the United States and overseas. They have a number of favorite places, but top of the list would have to be Istanbul, the Island of Santorini in the Aegean Sea, closely followed by Venice. But, in reality, there aren’t too many places that they haven’t enjoyed visiting!
Richard, who trained as a television producer years ago, (and spent 8 years as a radio announcer) still retains an interest in television. He has written and produced television commercials and infomercials and occasionally voiced a production or two. Lisa, who has a good eye for production continuity, is an invaluable assistant and leads Richard’s fan club!
When they have time, Richard and Lisa like to visit local historical areas where Richard uses medium format and 35mm cameras to capture color and black and white photographic images. He creates enlargements in his own dark room; he mats the prints and Lisa will start doing the framing in the near future. Although Richard prefers photography to painting, he likes to dabble in oils and acrylics.
Lisa, who has a home office, produces educational materials. She has written state-specific and a national book on guidelines for Notaries Public. In the past she has managed a seminar company, a Restoration Hardware store, and for many years she was the Director of various historic sites. Currently Lisa works at the International headquarters of Project C.U.R.E., the world's largest supplier of donated medical supplies to over 120 developing countries. You’ll find Lisa participating in various church activities, such as: a member of Friends in Faith Sunday School class, leader of the evening Women’s Bible Study, and sometimes she gives the message for Connections. Lisa has an affinity for ‘places and people of passion’ (those people who in a particular place and time took a risk and the world was changed). On a lighter note, Lisa recently went back to taking tap dancing lessons and this helps to make her a tippy-tappy happy person.

Richard’s children, Cushla and Stephen are a joy to them both. Cushla and Sahib live in Littleton. Cushla converted to the Muslim faith some years ago. They are blessed with a beautiful daughter.
Stephen and Rebecca also live in Littleton and both live busy lives.
Richard can be found at LUMC any day except Friday, (when he and Lisa are always on a date!) but makes himself available at any time.
